Originally part of Voidchaser’s debut EP Odyssey, released on February 2, 2024, Tyrant was remixed and remastered by Jason Poulin and re-released on April 2, 2024. This updated version explores themes of autocracy and resistance with heavy riffs and intricate compositions, offering a fresh perspective on an early standout track. The re-release was supported by Voidchaser’s Ashes of the Void Tour, co-headlined with Ashbreather, and featured stops in Toronto, Ottawa, and Hamilton alongside local acts like The Aphelion and The Mystical Hot Chocolate Endeavors. Tyrant (Remixed and Remastered) became the band’s first track to make a significant impact on both local and international stages, collecting over 20,000 streams on Spotify in its first year. This marked an important step in Voidchaser’s early journey, showcasing their growing potential in the metal scene.
