Emerging from Montreal and Stockholm, Voidchaser is a progressive metal band that has quickly established itself as a promising act on both the local and global metal scenes. Formed in 2023, the project began as a mission to bring original compositions to life. Starting with performances in Montreal’s vibrant music scene through bars and open mics, the band debuted with their first single, Valkyrie. This release introduced audiences to the sound that would become Voidchaser’s signature.

The release of the debut EP, Odyssey, in early 2024 marked a significant turning point. Featuring three ambitious tracks—Tyrant, Far Away, and Crusader—the EP was launched with a successful show in Montreal, which solidified the band’s resolve to push this project to its fullest potential. Shortly after, the group adapted to a new dynamic of long-distance collaboration, between Canada and Sweden, which fueled their productivity and strengthened their bond. By mid-2024, Voidchaser embarked on the Ashes of the Void Tour, delivering four shows in as many days across the Canadian provinces of Quebec and Ontario alongside co-headliner Ashbreather and acts such as The Aphelion and The Mystical Hot Chocolate Endeavors. Around the same time, the band released a remixed version of Tyrant, Star-Crossed Lovers, and a complete reissue of Valkyrie, cementing their reputation as a band unafraid to evolve.

In September 2024, Voidchaser unveiled their most ambitious work yet, Solace. A sprawling 30-minutes conceptual album divided into six interconnected parts, Solace captures the duality of strength and vulnerability, with tracks that range from the thunderous intensity of Solace Part II: Only Human—a progressive metal anthem featuring Ashbreather—to the haunting acoustic beauty of Solace Part IV: Alien. Garnering over 200,000 streams in its first three months, Solace received widespread critical acclaim. The Progspace described it as “top-notch progressive metal genre connoisseurs should be lapping this up readily,” while Riffage hailed Voidchaser as “rising stars of international progressive metal.” PodRock boldly stated, “Without a doubt, Voidchaser will soon be recognized worldwide,” and Letsgorock.net added to the praise, labeling the album “a fascinating exploration of progressive metal.” Much to the band’s surprise, Solace charted among the top metal albums in Canada and Sweden upon its release, according to Apple and iTunes, as well as in Belgium, Switzerland, Colombia, Peru, and Costa Rica.

To celebrate the release of their debut album, Voidchaser headlined in September 2024 the Terra Corp Presents: The Only Human Tour, a seven-show journey over eight days across the province of Quebec, produced by Metal Shed Productions with bands like The Anchoret, Universe Effects, Last Dance Among Wolves, La Corriveau, Fall From Everest, and many more. Fun fact: On this tour, Voidchaser achieved their first sold-out show and nearly sold out their merch! This successful tour further solidified their growing reputation in the metal scene.

Voidchaser is often described as a progressive metal band with death and rock influences, creating a distinctive and original sound. Featuring stadium-sized choruses, heavy riffs and catchy melodies, Voidchaser’s music stands out and has garnered attention across North America, Europe, and especially South America. Their rising popularity has been fueled by exposure through radio stations, podcasts, and online playlists, extending their reach well beyond their homes in Canada and Sweden. The band’s signature sound combines technical precision with emotive storytelling, drawing inspiration from genre legends like Devin Townsend, Haken, Opeth, Between the Buried and Me, Caligula’s Horse, and Dream Theater.

The band’s growing recognition has propelled them onto both the local and global scenes. This impact is reflected in their participation in prestigious events like ProgPower Europe 2025, where they will share the stage with acts such as Threshold, Kingcrow, Extol, KYROS, and Nospūn, as well as upcoming festivals in Canada. In March 2025, Voidchaser releasedTrust, their new EP featuring collaborations with critically acclaimed artists such as Jim Grey from the iconic Australian prog metal band Caligula’s Horse (Inside Out Music), members of The Anchoret (Willowtip Records) and Universe Effects, along with over 15 contributors from all around the world. Trust builds on the momentum of Solace and sets the stage for Voidchaser’s first international tour, spanning Canada and Europe, with further details to be announced soon.
